Selected Works
Young-Ja Zimmermann's work is concerned with uncovering the poetic potential of natural ornament in the sense of the Ernst Bloch quote below. She composes previously collected concrete fragments in collage-like arrangements or draws inspiration from concretely found objects to depict characteristic forms, mostly using mixed techniques, especially acrylic, on canvas and cardboard.

„But where the danger is, also grows the saving power.“ The ornament in the figurative sense is in artistic representation all [natural] figures interpreting, further interpreting, continuing to interpret, [these] are Realchiffern, an object-like floating in forms, finally an object like utopia – being in attempted success.
